Where can Biology take you?
Biology is a stand alone subject. It is educationally valuable for students not intending to study Biology at a higher level whilst being a preparation for higher education and professional courses. However, many of our students do go on to Biology based careers.
Here are just a few examples of a wide range of courses and careers for which Biology is useful.
NURSING; VETERINARY SCIENCE; MEDICINE; GENETICS; MICROBIOLOGY; ECOLOGY; SPORTS SCIENCE; PHYSIOTHERAPY; FORENSICS; MARINE BIOLOGY; BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE; TEACHING; AGRICULTURE SCIENCE; JOURNALISM; PATHOLOGY; DIETICIAN; GENETIC COUNSELLING; ZOOLOGIST; PHARMACY
Apart from this, Biology equips pupils with skills in communication and research as well as investigation and analysis. These skills will be invaluable regardless of career choice and will enable students to make informed choices in the future about subjects such as – health, gene cloning, animal testing, recycling and the environment, etc.
